I set up a floor plan at some point, but I am not really using it, perhaps because in its current form I think it lacks features. The LinuxMCE project, which has a home automation side, implements floor plans in a very nice way -- you can upload images of your floor plans and then overlay your lights and appliances in the right place. If I remember correctly, you can do the overlays using drag and drop in the browser. Very easy to set up, and since you are actually looking at a floor plan of your actual house, and not just some approximation made up of squares and rectangles, very easy to use as well, and it looks awesome (since the floor plan is an image you can use different colors for the different rooms in your house). I think someone produced a patch for MisterHouse to use images for floor plans, but it never made into the official code repository. Should be in the archive of this mailing list.
