I'd like to hear it on all web browsers unless the webmute is enabled.
I'm not sure if this was on a browser by browser setting or was global, as
my wife was the only one that cared and used it.

Only for the audreys

The audrey sounds/speech works fine. I've not had a problem with that
after the initial setup.
