To make sure that &analyze_rrd_rain in mh/code/common/weather_rrd_update.pl
isn't the problem, add a return to the start of this subroutine.  It could
simply be that as analyze_rrd_rain is run every 10 minutes, it's log message
coincidentally happens to be there before your issues.

Of course, there are known issues with the rrd stuff, so you may be running
into a bug.  You should see 4 log lines each time analyze_rrd_rain is run,
like in the following example.  Do you see all 4 lines before the crash?
