Joel, I managed to put some code together to send a simple text string
to a serial device and parse out what that device sent back. You can
look in your MH distribution in the code\public\pha_k256.pl to see how I

I've made some progress with Omnistat.pm, and can send some commands to
the thermostat, but I'm still having trouble reading data from the
thermostat.

Can someone explain to me how to get data back from a serial device?
I've perused some of the other library modules and don't quite
understand how functions like check_for_generic_serial_data works and
how all the pieces fit together.  Thanks.
