Hello, I'm finally getting back to Linux for my MH installation, and I'm excited about it. I want to use the better voices for the festival engine, but I simply need to get festival working first. When I issue the command: "read pollen forecast", (with debug=voice) I see: normal: Today's pollen count is 0.3. The predominant pollen is Ragweed Voice_Text volume=80, mh_volume= input phrase is '<SPEAKER NAME='female2'> Todays pollen count is 0.3. The predominant pollen is Ragweed </SPEAKER>' output phrase is '<SPEAKER NAME='female2'> Todays pollen count is 0.3. The predominant pollen is Ragweed </SPEAKER>' Voice_text TTS: /usr/bin/festival --tts /home/mh/data/mh_temp.festival.370.sable SIOD ERROR: unbound variable : voice_rab_diphone To even get it this far, I discovered that I needed to have a siteinit.scm file. I simply added the server_access_list parm to the file, and kept going, pasting in things that I found in the yahoo list archives, etc. Anyways, I ended up with this: (set! server_access_list '("localhost\\.localdomain" "typhoon" "typhoon\\.switzerny\\.org" "localhost" "house\\.switzerny\\.org")) (set! voice_default 'voice_ked_diphone) (set! voice_male1 'voice_kal_diphone) (set! voice_male2 'voice_ked_diphone) (set! voice_female 'voice_kal_diphone) (cd server_home) (voice_ked_diphone) (set! default_access_strategy 'direct) (set! voice_default 'voice_ked_diphone) (set! voice_male1 'voice_kal_diphone) (set! voice_male2 'voice_ked_diphone) (set! voice_female 'voice_kal_diphone) I'm starting the festival engine in a BG process, and it's listening on 1314. I sometimes see MH say "connecting to festival on localhost:1314" or something similar, and other times it seem to want to invoke the program itself. I'm currently running MH as ROOT, so there should be no permissions issues. Ideas? Thanks! Steve |
