Rename is not recommended. Can mess things up when dealing with RPM files. Use: ln -s /usr/local/BerkleyDB-4.04 /usr/local/BerkleyDB This creates a soft link (like a shortcut in your Windows world) and allows you to access it as /usr/local/BerkleyDB without altering anything that was put down by the installer. Regarding "Next issue..." Have you altered the mh.private.ini file to look for /dev/ttyS0 instead of COM1 ? Do you have read/write permission enables on /dev/ttyS0 for the user you are running MH as? Do you even have /dev/ttyS0 ? :) -- Axel » this tagline is umop apisdn « ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan Womack" <arw...@wo...> To: "Majordomo leben.com" <mis...@li...> Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2002 12:31 AM Subject: re: [misterhouse-users] Device::Serial could not find ioctl definitions! Need some Perl installation assistance So the DB_File was complaining it couldn't find db.h after I put in BerkeleyDB-4.04 (or whatever) I noticed it was looking for /usr/local/BerkeleyDB/ so I renamed BerkekelyDB-4.04 to BerkelyDB, what is the proper method to do this? Next issue is: Reading parm files: ./mh.ini ./mh.private.ini /usr/local/Alan/mh.private.ini Code Directories: - /usr/local/Alan - ./../code/common Device::Serial could not find ioctl definitions!
