NT4 (and probably W2K) is NOT recommended or certified for that box. I have not tried Solaris (but I would be=20 pessimistic). An older SCO would only run as 16-color 640x480 VGA (which looks awful on the LCD). The problem area is drivers for the Neomagic (display) chip. RedHat 5.= x and higher have them (I've run 5.2 and 7.0), but as add-ons rather than as=20 part of the pure linux distribution. I'm not sure about the other distributions.=20 At one point, the drivers were available for free - but not open source. I haven't=20 checked recently. But MH ran fine on the box with Redhat 5.2, X at 800x600, and sound. -bill |
