Actually, you just need mh.private.ini.  The mh.ini should stay in mh\bin.
Mh.ini contains defaults and needs to always be available to MH, the
mh.private.ini is our settings and is where we can override things.

Actually, just add the set mh_parms for the private ini, not mh.ini so:
set mh_parms=c:\misterhouse\mh.private.ini  btw, you can rename the file, so
if you prefer:
set mh_parms=c:\misterhouse\california.house.ini

Yes.  Now, if your on NT, it's probably easier to set the environment
variable in MyComputer properties as there's no autoexec.bat (well, not in
the same way at least).

Yep, change the code dir to point to where your code is.  My directory
structure looks like:

root\
root\misterhouse\
root\misterhouse\mh\               (current mh code)
root\misterhouse\mh.old            (last version of mh)
root\misterhouse\code              (my code)
root\misterhouse\data              (my data)
root\misterhouse\mh.private.ini    (my settings).

I updated the code and data paths in the mh.private.ini file to point to my
directories.  This was when I get a new release I don't lose anything
(albeit, I may need to merge something in if the release data dirs have some
files I need).

There is a reload command, it's not automatic tho so you would need to
trigger it.

Also, you can't have an item name and group name that is the same.  I think
the case difference saves you above, but it might cause you confusion later.
