This worked for me when I had the same problem with Ghostscript 7.03 - = Things does work with version 7.04 though: Here is my 2 cents on the recent thread regarding the Yap error where it can't find the installed Ghostscript. I am using MiKTeX 2 UP 1 with Yap 0.98k. I tried running Yap with 3 different versions of Ghostscript (only 1 was installed at a time): - AFPL Ghostscript 6.50 - GNU Ghostscript 6.51 - GNU Ghostscript 6.52 In all 3 cases, Ghostscript was installed correctly and I was able to view PS and EPS files using GSview 3.6. Yap worked fine with Ghostscript 6.50 and 6.51, but gave the following error with Ghostscript 6.52 (and would not display EPS figures) PostScript problem: cannot find GhostScript After poking around in the Windows registry with regedit, I finally noticed that the only difference between these versions of Ghostscript was the presence of the entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AFPL Ghostscript for 6.50/6.51 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GNU Ghostscript for 6.52 With Ghostscript 6.52 installed, Yap worked fine after I changed the name of the entry from "GNU Ghostscript" to "AFPL Ghostscript". It appears that Yap looks only for AFPL Ghostscript. It would be nice if Yap looked for either GNU or AFPL Ghostscript. Hope this was useful. I don't know if this same type of behavior occurs for MiKTeX 2.1 and Ghostscript 7.0x. Curt Nelson |
