If I issue a 'cd ..', followed by ps2pdf "mypath\myfile.ps" > the only thing happening is 'ps2pdf:no alternate file name' - not any hint > on usage or any such thing. As described in my last post, not even a=20 > "C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.6\miktex\bin\ps2pdf" "mypath\myfile.ps" > will work, unless I stand exactly in C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.6\miktex\b= in I do find your problem description difficult as it isn't always clear if you are giving the exact commands you issued or if you are rephrasing them. It is also not clear if you have problems with all files or only with some on server pathes or only with files with spaces or something else. I would suggest that you install debugview, set the miktex_trace in a cmd window (take all values that sound even remotely as if they could show something ("process" at least)) and start debugview with admin rights. Then set path in this cmd-window to miktex/bin (so that no other pathes can matter) and start some tests. Run ps2pdf from miktex/bin and from another folder e.g. C:\temp Try ps2pdf.bat and ps2pdf.exe and without extension. Always test each ps2pdf without argument, with a non-existing file, with a file in the current directory, with a file on the same drive but somewhere else, with a file on the server path, with files without space and files with spaces. Copy all commands and all messages from cmd verbatim to a file. Check after each test the debug view window if you can see something that looks suspicious. ps2pdf is not a stand alone application. It calls some batch files which in turn calls ghostscript. As you mentioned that you have also some problems with YAP in dvips mode I would suspect that there is perhaps the problem. --=20 Mit freundlichen Gr=FC=DFen Ulrike Fischer mailto:li...@ni... |
