Using greek letters in equations by using eg %lambda goes ok it is the greek letters in the plots that dosen't work anymore - it did back in version 5.28.0-2 but starting with 5.36.1 it stops working

From a message to the mailing list recently [1], I gather that this has something to do with fonts which are or are not packaged with Gnuplot which is bundled with wxMaxima and Maxima.
I think, the example in the mail above does work with maxima-clisp-5.37.2.exe (which I just released) as it should. (I include the most recent gnuplot)
Best regards, Wolfgang
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I downloaded yesterday's daily build of wxMaxima for a test (works fine by
the way)
In there {\symbol l} in a label-text didn't yield a Greek lambda in gnuplot
as usual - however [esc] l [esc] - did !
But you say that it is fixed - thanks.
I rather stick to the "maxima-sbcl-5.37.2.exe" to get maximum speed as I
work with quite large data sets.
Best regards
Rene'
PS had a strange behavior with this nightly build: I changed the language
to e.g. Danish. Afterwards, when loading a worksheet and just evaluate it
- made wxMaxima to hang at the first cell - a Maxima-restart solves it.
If I press the button "Completely stop Maxima and restart" as the first
thing after loading a worksheet, it all works ok. It didn't help to switch
back to the default language. I then uninstalled/reinstalled - didn't help.
Only after uninstalling all maxima - including manually remove all
maxima/wxmaxima stuff from the registry - and then reinstall. It then also
worked again with the nightly build of wxMaxima (I didn't dare to switch
language again :-) ).

It seems like the Greek font has been removed from both maxima, wxMaxima,
and gnuplot ?
kind regards
Rene'
How about an example with maxima and gnuplot that shows that the Greek font is gone now but used to work?

As far as I remember this one also worked previusly:
I: string : "Text with Greek %omega dosnt work";
O: "Text with Greek %omega dosnt work"
But I am 100% shure

Greek letters work fine here, both upper and lower case. I have tried it on both Maxima 5.37.1 and 5.37.2 - SBCL 1.2.7 version for Windows 64 bit

Yes - as variables it goes ok, but not anymore as labels on the axis on a plot.

I don't know whose problem this is to fix.
