On my ubuntu pre-alpha box I get the following error messages on executing make:

I don't see this using a fresh clone of master on Debian.
Do you still see this behavior? Does it go away if you do something like a "make distclean" and then rebuild? What about on a fresh clone (on that same box)?
Hey! You are right: The problem is gone and I can update my maxima
again. So all that is left is to thank the contributor that fixed it -
and to thank you for finding it out.
Will try to install a few lisps again this evening so I can switch
between the lisp implementations to test the changes I did to wxMaxima.
