I can't determine whether this can be easily accomplished. Say I have x and y data from which I construct a simple scatter plot. I would like to now add a histogram of the differences between the individual elements of the x and y vectors. Sounds easy enough, the only problem is that I would like to add this differences histogram in the top right hand corner of the plot, oriented diagonally, essentially straddling the unity line. I know how to add marginal histograms to a scatter plot, but I cannot seem to find information on how to rotate the histogram 45 degrees nor how to place it appropriately. Could someone help me out with this? Any help would be much appreciated.
