Hi I'm not aware of any open bugs to do with filters - there are some Request for Enhancements (RFE) open on how the filter system should be improved but basic filtering on spam should work fine. We have quite a few customers who use filters in this way. Adding a filter for 'X-Text-Classification' containing 'spam' (or whatever you have chosen to call the spam bucket) should do it. You will need to use the 'Edit Header List' option first to add 'X-Text- Classification' to the list of available headers. Well, it isn't working for me. I added the header to the list, and then created precisely that filter. No action coming from the filters whatsoever. Then I simply added a filter that would mark as Spam all the emails with subject containing "hello", and it also didn't work. So now I have POPFile set up to modify the subject, and this way we can easily see which tickets are spam and get rid of them, but it's obviously not ideal. I have now 2 filters active: - If "X-Text-Classification" contains "spam", mark as spam, set priority as junk. - If subject contains "[spam]", mark as spam. No effect at all. I am not using the Zope Scheduler to poll the email accounts. It also stopped working on friday, for some unknown reason (nothing was changed in Zope since 2 weeks before). So now I have a scheduled task that uses wget to open the /mail/getMail url. I am just mentioning it, in case it has some influence. What could I do to investigate this further? Thanks. I've tracked this down, it is a bug that has been introduced in 2.0.3. Here's the fix: In Products/MailManager/sql there is a file called listFilters.zsql. In this file delete from <dtml-sqlgroup where> to </dtml-sqlgroup> and you will probably need to restart Zope. After the delete the file will look like this: <dtml-comment> title:List filters connection_id: mailmanager_db max_rows:0 arguments:assign_user assign_group </dtml-comment> SELECT * FROM <dtml-var schema>mm_filter ORDER BY id This fix will also go into 2.0.4 which will be released soon. Hello, We are now in production phase with Mail Manager. So far, really satisfied with it, but I already got a comment/question/suggestion from one of the users. When you do some action on a ticket, and you go back to the list of tickets, it's hard to see which tickets still need action, and which tickets are already dealt with. Of course, if you close them, that's easy, but in the case of a ticket where you sent an email back to the customer, but you can't close yet, it becomes harder to manage, with a long list of tickets. Perhaps an extra button for sending, and an extra status option, something like: "Send and set as Handled" or "Send and set on Hold". And as soon as we get a reply from the customer into this ticket, the status should change back to Open, or Needs Action. Of course, maybe we are not seeing some option that does just that. This is a strange Zope thing. Basically when we try to read a bit of data while it is being changed you get a conflict error. However what will happen is that Zope will just pause for a moment and then try again. An error is only raised to the user if the same thing happens 3 times. Some conflict errors in the log are completely normal. Ok, the problem is that I am seeing messages that have gone through=20 POPFile, so they should be in MailManager, but they are not showing. It's only 2 emails so far that have gone "missing" like this, but it's=20 really worrying. What can I do to get more info? In the event.log file I see the email address of the user, which shows=20 that the getMail script actually got the message, but I see no ticket=20 created! Hi, This is getting serious. I can see now 2 emails that have gone through=20 POPFile, and I can see them as well in the event.log file of the Zope=20 instance. However, they are NOT in MailManager. The tickets are not there. One of=20 them should have gone into an existing ticket, and the other one is new. This is serious, please help me to find what's going on. Missing emails=20 like this is simply not acceptable. I think the thing to do here is to make sure that the mail really is =20 being lost. You could either look in Postgres directly, it would =20 probably easier to do this using one of the database browsing tools. Alternatively you can export the data by going to a URL such as: http://localhost//mail/account/te...@ex.../export Check through the output and make sure that the missing mails really =20 are missing. I guess you are referring to the mm_message table. I am using AquaStudio to browse directly in the Postgres database, and=20 sorry to say, but those emails are nowhere. Emails are not coming in at all. It seems "something" has happened, and it has totally blocked the POP3=20 polling process. Could it be that a subject is required? I noticed that there was one=20 email from a customer with no subject. Maybe this causes some sort of=20 null pointer error (I know no Python), and the POP3 polling function=20 gets stuck. We have also a couple of IMAP accounts, I will do a test. Ok, confirmed, IMAP is coming in, but POP3 isn't, and that's a major=20 problem. Anything I can do besides restarting Zope? I can't do that now with=20 users working on MailManager. It may be worth finding etc/zope.conf and changing 'debug-mode' to 'on'. This will give you more detailed logging. You will need to restart Zope for it to take effect. One other thing you can try is to manually trigger a mail collection by going to: http://localhost:8080/mail/getMail If there are any errors you should see them displayed in your web browser. Whenever I do that, I get automatically forwarded to the main Mail Manager screen. I don't get to see any special messages. I also didn't see any error messages using that page when we initially configured Mail Manager. And then we had a couple of email accounts with wrong password, so there actually were errors. Are you sure opening that address in your browser will show errors? In any case, it does trigger a mail collection, and actually, I am collecting email that way, with wget and a scheduled task in Windows. I will do that as soon as I can, and see if I can find out anything. But if the issue gets solved with the Zope restart, I will then need to=20 wait until it happens again... Oh well. Ok, I have done some tests: I am having a problem with the zope_scheduler, and I think this is=20 related to the disappearing emails problem. If I restart Zope, the zope_scheduler is able to trigger the email=20 getting script just a couple of times. Then it doesn't get triggered=20 anymore. I see in the event.log file the line: 2005-12-06T14:29:59 INFO(0) TimerService Ttimer tick at Tue Dec 06=20 14:29:59 2005 But absolutely nothing happens. No mail gets pulled in. So, this is what I believe: - There is something in the getMail script that is causing problems.=20 This last restart of Zope it was able to run 3 times, and then it=20 doesn't run anymore. - If you call it manually with a browser, it can still work, but=20 eventually gets also into problems. The scheduled task that was doing=20 "wget http://localhost:8080/mail/getMail" eventually stops getting a=20 response, and starts retrying, triggering continuously the mail polling=20 process. Definitely not good. - It sounds like some sort of "leak" or some lock, and eventually Zope=20 runs out of resources to start more mail polling threads. I have debug-mode on, but I don't see any extra info in the log files. I=20 NEED to solve this issue quick, I can't rely on a product that doesn't=20 reliably handle incoming emails. Please give me some advice.
