MailManager 2.0.6 released

I've just uploaded the latest stable release of MailManager 2.0 to Sourceforge. You can grab it from here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=85788&package_id=88948&release_id=386913

It's purely a bug fix release with the following issues resolved:

- We're now using html2text (included) instead of stripogram for converting
HTML to its plain text equivalent (when sending out HTML mail, we also
include a plain text alternative for those who can't read HTML messages).
This results in far prettier plain text conversion.
- Notify user/group flags can now be set/cleared correctly on account
preferences (#1404595).
- Improved address validation. Well, it's now a bit more lax, but it's
completely conformant to RFCs 2821 and 2822 (#1396051).
- MySQL: Default categories are now set up at installation (#1392386).
- HTML parts of multipart/alternative messages are now encoded as UTF-8
rather than, bizarrely, being forced into ISO-8859-1 (#1368283).
- Make sure the user is informed about *why* test data cannot be removed
(#1345788).... read more

MailManager 2.0.1-alpha1 Release

We are pleased to announce the release of MailManager 2.01-alpha1 today.

This release adds in experimental MySQL support (1208503), and a vastly improved regression test suite for the database code.

There are some known issues with this functionality, mainly relating to text searching. In order to implement text searching in MySQL, there are some auxiliary tables which are in MyISAM format. The consistency of these tables does not seem to be 100% correct, and as a result, the main ticket screen will likely show duplicates of tickets for the time being.... read more

MailManager 2.0-final release.

The Logicalware team are pleased to announce a final release for MailManager 2.0 today.

The focus of the MailManager 2.0 release has been on scalability. A PostgreSQL back end has been incorporated instead of using the ZODB, which has improved performance dramatically, particularly for larger installations.

There have been numerous other small changes, features, and bugfixes.

We would like to thank our user community for their ongoing contributions to MailManager, the bug reports, RFE's and patches are very much appreciated.... read more

MailManager 2.0-beta1 Released

MailManager 2.0 beta-1 is now available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/mailmanager/

This release adds an initial Chinese translation file and updates all the documentation. RFC2047-encoded headers are now dealt with correctly, disk usage is expressed in a friendly way, another XSS attack vector is quashed, and Epoz looks equally pretty on all browsers. We have also added support for POP3 over SSL, and improved performance for very large mail databases. There are also several minor bug fixes.

MailManager 1.1.2 Released

Backdated news, however, we are pleased to announce the release of MailManager 1.1.2 as of May 12th.

All URLs and other useful information can be found at

http://freshmeat.net/projects/mailmanager/

The changes in this release are as follows:
This release fixes #1196675 which would, under certain circumstances, cause IMAP mail to be silently dropped. The ticket restoration code is more resilient against invalid tar files (which have been seen to be generated RHEL3 systems, but not on anything else tested against). TemporaryFile() in the export code may be causing the same inode to be reused, which the tar library can take to assume it is a hard-linked file and set the linkflags header appropriately. Fortunately, it still appends the correct file data.

MailManager 1.1.1 Released

Yes, this is the 'brown paper bag' release. The bug where the outgoing message would contain the phrase 'body' or 'html_body' has been fixed. My apologies for letting such an obvious bug slip past our testing and into the wild.

The Win32 installer is also now available.

First release candidate for MailManager 1.0

After an extended period of beta testing, during which exactly one hundred bug reports were closed, we at Logical Progression are delighted to announce the first release candidate of MailManager. Users are strongly encouraged to upgrade since this release fixes some serious bugs, some of which could lead to the loss of mail, and various improvements have also been made to improve usability. Beta three and four instances can be used in the new release unmigrated (at the slight risk of missing "date" headers being handled suboptimally).... read more

Third beta release of MailManager 1.0

The Logical Progression crew is delighted once again to announce the
third beta release of MailManager - treating e-mail ever more
seriously.

In a fit of enthusiasm our CEO re-classified several feature requests
as "bugs of omission" and consequently this release features a number
of new features and major improvements. It also includes a couple of
serious bug fixes.

BUG FIXES

Account signatures were never used at all. They now appear at the
bottom of every outgoing message and automatic acknoweldgement, beyond
the control of the agent. User signatures appear above account
signatures. The standard separator "\n-- \n" is automatically
inserted between the message body and the signature(s).... read more
