Hi, I have just bought an SMCPCIT-G EU Ez-Connect 108 Mbps and would like to know if this works under linux (FC4 for example) with madwifi. I have seen no comments in FAQ or mailing lists archives. Is that because is a new card? Any positive (or negative) experiences? This is what I get when trying to make my card work under FC4 kernel 2.6.14-1.1653_FC4: # svn checkout http://svn.madwifi.org/trunk madwifi-ng # make compiles well # make install install well # modprobe ath_pci module is loaded silently # dmesg ath_hal: module license 'Proprietary' taints kernel. ath_hal: 0.9.16.13 (AR5210, AR5211, AR5212, RF5111, RF5112, RF2413, RF5413, DFS) wlan: 0.8.4.2 (Atheros/multi-bss) ath_rate_sample: 1.2 ath_pci: 0.9.4.5 (Atheros/multi-bss) # wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode sta wlanconfig: ioctl: No such device and of course if I type: # iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. sit0 no wireless extensions. Additional information: Part No: 99-012084-455 # lspci | grep Atheros 00:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc.: Unknown device ff16 (rev 01) 00:0b.0 Serial controller: Atheros Communications, Inc.: Unknown device ff96 (rev 01) Well, does anybody know what going on? Does madwifi-ng really support SMCPCIT-G EU Ez-Connect 108 Mbps? If not, why no error message is displayed in dmesg when loading the module? Thanks in advance, Octavi. |
