This project is run by volunteers, and so is the support via mailing lists and IRC channel. You're free to ask your questions how they come, but please try to follow these guidelines: 0. first try to solve the problem yourself. If you fail with that, add a description of the steps you took so far to your problem description. This helps to get a clearer picture of the situation you're facing, increases the probability to get an answer, and allows to avoid steps that you already tried yourself without success. 1. please take care to direct your requests to the appropriate mailing list (-devel is for questions related to modifying / extending the driver's source, -users is for all questions regarding setting up and running WLAN clients or APs based on madwifi, -docs for questions relating to the documentation of madwifi). 2. ask your questions without trying to put pressure to anyone who might think of answering them. No one here is payed for helping others, so using stuff like "answer immediately", "please help urgently", and so on is most probably contraproductive and, in addition, is highly annoying for the audience. 3. be patient when waiting for answers. As most of us have limited time to spend for support, answers might take up to one week. 4. if you don't get an answer after 1.5 weeks, you might consider to resend your request. Take the chance to add a description of other steps you might have taken meanwhile. 5. If you don't get an answer after resending your question, it's quite obvious that no one knows a solution at this point. It doesn't make sense to resend your question for another time, other than probably annoying the audience. 6. If you were able to resolve your problem, please let the audience know. It would be nice if you could describe in short words what your solution looks like. This might save a lot of time for others who might suffer from the same problems later. Rashmi, not all points mentioned above are applying to you in special. But I felt like it might be worth to mention them while I'm at it, for reference purposes.
