Hi, It is seems that i have problems with bridging between intefaces. I am using debian with kernel 2.6.12, and proxim OriNOCO Gold 8470 WD card with AR5212 (b/g) chipset. The idea is to forward periodic packets from FreeBSD router to wireless client through madwifi AP. Packets send every 100 ms and value of interval can be modified. Now i am getting packets from router to interface eth0 (tcpdump -i eth0), and i need to send them to ath0 and after forward to client. Router is seems to be configured properly, because when you attach infrastructure Cisco Ap it's transmitting all the packets properly. First i was trying to configure a bridge like it's written in madwifi userdocs. so i made something like this brctl addbr br brctl addif br ath0 brctl addif br eth0 ifconfig ath0 192.168.200.41 ifconfig eth0 192.168.200.40 ifconfig br up i also was trying to use iwpriv ath0 ap_bridge 1 as soon as i am making bridge up the client is not pinging no more, and i can't see any packets from ath0 (tcpdump). echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward is also not giving any result. Next my step was reading madwifi forums where people seems to have same problems, there was some stuff about NAT layer 2 and routing. I was trying to implenemt parprouted but in this case interfaces was not answering even eth0. of cause i look also to iptables configuring but i also didn't get any positive result. Could someone give good explanations what could be the problem, and how i can solve it. Thanks, Dipankar |
