FWIW, it's not obvious to me either that "make modules" produces modversions.h. I'd just chalk this up to the carnage that comes from relative newbies building this code, rather than smacking the poster. But thanks for the solution, still. - C Frank Benkstein wrote: > On Sun, 21 Sep 2003 10:32:50 -0500 > John Goerzen <jgo...@co...> wrote: > > >>When I try to build with the latest 2.6 test, I get the errors below. >>Please note that I have followed the directions and I have pointed it >>to a valid built tree. >> >>for i in ./ath_hal ./wlan ./driver; do \ >> (cd $i; make); \ >>done >>make[1]: Entering directory >>`/home/jgoerzen/programs/madwifi-20030802/ath_hal' gcc -c -o >>ah_osdep.o -include ../include/compat.h -I../include -I../hal >>-I../hal/linux -I../ath_hal >>-I/home/jgoerzen/programs/kernel/2.6/linux-2.6.0-test5/include -I.. >>-D__KERNEL__ -DMODULE -DMODVERSIONS -include >>/home/jgoerzen/programs/kernel/2.6/linux-2.6.0-test5/include/linux/mo >>dversions.h -Wall -g -O -fomit-frame-pointer >>../hal/linux/ah_osdep.c<command line>:8:1: >>/home/jgoerzen/programs/kernel/2.6/linux-2.6.0-test5/include/linux/mo >>dversions.h: No such file or directory make[1]: *** [ah_osdep.o] Error >>1 make[1]: Leaving directory > > [snip ~70kb(!) of crap] > > Please read the error messages before posting. > modversions.h is missing.
