Hi all. We are pleased to announce that madwifi.org, which is now the official name of "the MadWifi project", has joined Software in the Public Interest (SPI), Inc [1]. During the past three years our project has grown considerably, and so has the community of MadWifi and ath5k users. Lacking a clean and transparent way to handle them we unfortunately had to deny offered monetary donations in the past [2]. Our cooperation with SPI finally solves this long-standing issue. SPI's offer to receive and handle donations from our users and taking care of all the administrative work is a great relief, as it allows us to stay focused on our development work. At the same time donors will benefit from the fact that their donations might be tax-deductible in their countries. We are happy to join esteemed projects such as Debian, PostgreSQL and OpenOffice.org who already appreciate [3] SPI's services, and we look forward to a close collaboration. -- The madwifi.org team [1] http://www.spi-inc.org [2] http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.drivers.madwifi.devel/5188 [3] http://www.spi-inc.org/projects |
