As it turns out, we can go back to 2.4.20 if one more change is made. CONFIG_CRYPTO should not be required. Instead, wlan_ccmp should only be compiled if CONFIG_CRYPTO_AES (or a CPU specific equivalent) is enabled. This makes sense for the latest kernels as well. The user should be warned that CCMP won't be available. That's still OK for most users.
