Is this only the D-Link cards that have this issue? I haven't been able to try a different mac with it in AP mode but in station mode I definitely cannot transmit out with a different mac address. Here is a test created by the person that brought up the issue. wlanconfig ath1 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode sta iwconfig ath1 essid ESSID (actual AP ESSID here) iwconfig ath1 key 999999999 (actual key here) ifconfig ath1 192.168.1.50 up (actual ip on your network not the router) ping 192.168.1.254 (routers ip) (it should work OK) ifconfig ath1 down ifconfig ath1 hw ether 44:44:44:44:44:44 (different address) ifconfig ath1 up ping 192.168.1.254 (router ip) (if it works properly it should ping still but because I can not ping I think there is a problem) ifconfig ath1 down ifconfig ath1 hw ethere FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF (original card mac here) ifconfig ath1 up ping 192.168.1.254 (router ip) (it should work again) Or maybe try this by creating an ap with a different mac address and try connecting to it. I would like to know if this is a D-Link specific problem or does it effect more people. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
