Greetings, Madwifi List My story is long but i will try to be brief. I started out this adventure by installling the Auditor security collection, which is based on Knoppix and Debian. My hardware base is an IBM Thinkpad T30 with a Proxim 8470-WD 802.11 b/g. During my experience with the Auditor security collection, I had the ability to monitor and inject somewhat but the kernel would crash all the time, suggesting that the Debian platform had some flaw from which I could not recover (refer to my posts at the Auditor discussion board for my experiences there: http://forum.remote-exploit.org/viewtopic.php?t=1009). The next step was so install Fedora Core 3 and try my luck with the madwifi drivers there. I installed FC3, installed the kernel source, and installed and updated the madwifi drivers. Although the kernel did not panic all the time as it did with the Debian platform, I do not have the ability to inject packets. My benchmark is the aircrack suite, whick includes airodump and aireplay - among the best in wireless utilities that I have yet found. Aireplay with Debian allowed me to issue -0 (Deauthentication) and -1 (Fake authenticaiton) attacks but these attacks have no effect under my FC3 and updated madwifi installation. Any attempt to issue a DEAUTH or Fake Authentication against a target test network results in no activity whatsoever. Under FC3: [khal]# ./aireplay -1 0 -e test-linksys -a target_BSSID -h Associated_client_MAC ath0 21:23:23 Sending Authentication Request 21:23:25 Sending Authentication Request 21:23:27 Sending Authentication Request ,, and so on [khal]# ./aireplay -0 2 -a target_BSSID ath0 21:15:57 Sending DeAuth to broadcast -- BSSID: [target_BSSID] 21:15:59 Sending DeAuth to broadcast -- BSSID: [target_BSSID] 21:16:01 Sending DeAuth to broadcast -- BSSID: [target_BSSID] .. and so on I dont know where else to to turn to determine why I cannot get this to work correctly. What am I missing? |
