Dear Sebastian, thanks for replying. I've tried this already sometimes, and now I tried again. Deactivating WEP makes nothing better. The WEP key I tested sometimes converting it to hex and vice versa - I'd say I'm sure the keys are the same, though you never could be sure they are, when it's not working. But there was no positive effect. Thank you very much even it didn't help:-( Edmond iwconfig ath0 ath0 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"Homezone" Nickname:"intradisk" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.442GHz Access Point: 00:03:2F:0B:D2:4A Bit Rate:11Mb/s Tx-Power:50 dBm Sensitivity=0/3 Retry:off RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Power Management:off Link Quality:33/94 Signal level:-62 dBm Noise level:-95 dBm Rx invalid nwid:3748 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 # ifconfig ath0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:05:4E:4A:D8:6C inet addr:192.168.0.2 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:235 errors:538 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:538 TX packets:315 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:199 RX bytes:10810 (10.5 kiB) TX bytes:28878 (28.2 kiB) Interrupt:27 Memory:4bff0000-4c000000 Sebastian Weitzel wrote: >> The problem is, that I'm not able to get the card transferring some >> data or pinging my accesspoint. >> everything is running without problems doing the following steps: > > > I guess there is a Problem with the wep encryption.
