Hey all -- I've written periodically to this list with problems with my Thinkpad t40 and madwifi; I was having the constant reassociation problem and have been suck using the Linuxant driverloader (which worked great). However, I just swapped out my old SMC 7004 AWBR wireless router for a NetGear WRT54G router, and all my problems with madwifi have been solved. A few questions: - Madwifi seems to take much longer to get a DHCP address from the WRT54G than the Linuxant driverloader does. Any reason why? - According to wavemon, the "link quality" averages about 20 out of 94. The AP is about 10 feet from me -- does this number actually mean anything? thanks for all the help! cheers, -steve |
