Hi all, Is there anybody who had successfully installed macs-0.8 beta version downloaded from sourceforge.net site ?? I am trying to install the " macs-0.8 " beta version. The two major issues I am facing currently are: 1.Not abel to configure apache as DSO with modperl statically compiled in to apache binary (mentioned strictly in HTML-Mason-1.24/1.25 readme file) 2.Not abel to successfully compile Apache::Request (libapreq-1.2/1.3) with RedHat-7.3 Following lines will explain the configuration process that I am following. Also find the attatched file (explains the configuration scenario and prerequsites installed) for your reference. ########################### ####Configuration steps#### ########################### HTML-Mason (README) WARNINGS! * Don't use Mason with an older mod_perl DSO (dynamic shared object). Using Mason with a mod_perl DSO may cause your Apache server to crash silently at startup, or fail intermittently. The fix for this problem is to install Apache/mod_perl with mod_perl compiled statically into the Apache binary. Packages of Apache with a static mod_perl are available around the net. Testing with recent mod_perls showed improvements, but because this bug can be so intermittent and difficult to spot, mod_perl DSO with Mason is still strictly unsupported. 1.mod_perl instllation process Statically building mod_perl into the Apache binary (httpd) $ perl Makefile.PL \ $ APACHE_SRC=/usr/local/macs/apache_1.3.9/src \ $ NO_HTTPD=1 \ $ USE_APACI=1 \ $ PREP_HTTPD=1 \ $ EVERYTHING=1 \ $ make && make install ---------------------------------------------------------------- A]Building Apache for DSO support (includes mod_so support) ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache --enable-module=so --enable-shared=max make && make install B]Building Apache with Mod-Perl(as DSO) $ cd apache_1.3.9 $ ./configure \ --prefix=/usr/local/apache \ --activate-module=src/modules/perl/libperl.a \ $ make $ make install Thank's Swapnil __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
