Hello and thanks for the work on the M560x driver! First, I have compiled and installed the driver from svn rev. 114. I have an ASUS A6000Ne laptop with a built in ALi Corp. USB 2.0 Q-tec Webcam 300 (ID 0402:5603). The driver appears to load fine (dmesg output below) and /dev/vedeo0 is created. My webcam is located on: Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0402:5603 ALi Corp. USB 2.0 Q-tec Webcam 300 -------- dmesg output -------- Linux video capture interface: v2.00 m560x_core.c: usb_m560x_init - M560x-based WebCam driver startup m560x_core.c: m560x_probe - M560x-based WebCam connected m5603_mt9v011.c: [m5603_probe_mt9v011:366] probe mt9v011 sensor id ff ff m5603_ov7640.c: [m5603_probe_ov7640:170] probe ov7640 sensor id 00 00 m5603_ov7640.c: [m5603_probe_ov7640:172] detected ov7640 sensor m560x_core.c: m560x_probe - Ali_M560x WebCam driver is now controlling video device 0 usbcore: registered new interface driver m560x m560x_core.c: 0.4.0:Ali M560x Webcam Driver -------- end of dmesg output -------- So far to test my webcam I have been using tvtime. Running tvtime-scanner returns the following output (after about 30seconds): -------- tvtime-scanner output -------- Scanning using TV standard NTSC. videoinput: Card refuses to set its input. Please post a bug report to http://tvtime.net/ indicating your card, driver, and this error message: Input/output error. videoinput: Driver won't tell us its norm: Input/output error videoinput: Can't get tuner info: Input/output error Your capture card driver: m560x [Ali M560x-based USB Camera/usb-0000:00:1d.7-6/1024] does not support studio-quality colour images required by tvtime. This is a hardware limitation of some cards including many low-quality webcams. Please select a different video device to use with the command line option --device. Message from the card was: Input/output error -------- end of tbtime-scanner output -------- Running tvtime results in a black window opening, the computer working very hard for 30seconds, and then the black windows changing to a generic no-signal blue background with the following writing: "No video source" - top right corner "No signal" - middle "m560x: Input/output error" - bottom left "cannot open capture device /dev/video0" - bottom left I am happy to offer my time and computer for debugging. Is there any output that you are looking for that I could include? Thanks Peter |
