Right now, when running without menu icons (iGtk/MenuImages=0) even the applications menu is missing icons.
I think LXDE should follow GNOME's guideline to selectively use gtk_image_menu_item_set_always_show_image to force icons for
- application launchers
- bookmarks
- objects (devices etc)
I am troubled by the special cases. This will lead to adding options to please everyone. One of the ways of remaining lightweight is to introduce options very judiciously. It is unlikely that we would add this feature based on only one request.
Well, I kind of agree that the approach taken by GNOME is kind of strange but on the other hand, it's hard to please anyone.
As for the exceptions: do you really think anyone *wants* to not see application launcher icons in the main menu?
Ticket moved from /p/lxde/bugs/217/
Well, this is not bug but feature request. And I'm second on that it shouldn't be implemented, there are a lot of options already, and too many of them would confuse people. Thank you.
