Finally this problem seems to be solved (in 2.0.3). Older versions
didn't authenticate when fetching the schema from the server. This
resultet in the error message above, when the server has been
configured in a way that every user has to be authenticated.
I think editing of the ACL settings isn't needed in the future any more.
