Hi all, I've a strange idea.. We have lots of different types of legacy pcs we need to join our K12LTSP as thin clients.. Rather than detecting the network card, finding the appropriate disk, etc.. Is there a way to create something of a "thick etherboot floppy"? Ie: a floppy that contains linux and tons of net drivers that would detect the network card and then immediately etherboot from that? This would be preferable to the "guess and check" method we are employing now.. Despite the fact that it would take a bit longer to load from the floppy.. I suppose this would involve user mode etherbooting? Has this ever been done? Thanks in advance! |
