Shane, When the pivot root runs, it is trying to take the old root and move it to /oldroot within the new directory tree that you've mounted with nfs. I'm guessing that is what is causing the error. If you just create an empty directory in your tree called 'oldroot' that will likely fix that problem. Busybox is a collection of utilities that are combined into a very small executable. Take a look at http://www.Busybox.net for more info. Hope that helps, Jim McQuillan jam@Ltsp.org On Wed, 31 Jul 2002, Shane Kennedy wrote: > In trying to get a better of the whole netboot procedure, I am trying to > boot, then mount from a directory other than /opt/ltsp/i386. > I have created a directory with nfsrootinit, and edited its fstab etc. > When the client boots, it gets to > Mounting dhclient > Mounting root filesystem:.... > Doing the pivot_root > pivot_root: pivot_root: No such file or directory > Mounting the devfs filesystem > Running /sbin/init > exec: /sbin/init: No such file or directory > Kernel panic: .... > > The pivot root appears to be looking for a file/tree, which doesn't > exist.
