Hi Marty, Gerrit suggested this testsuite might be worth including in LTP. http://developer.osdl.org/dev/hotplug/tests/ This is a set of test cases the OSDL-DCL Hotplug SIG developed to validate the CPU hotplug functionality in the kernel. It onlines/offlines CPUs, checks that top behaves correctly when cpu's appear and disappear, etc. A summary of the test cases is here: http://www.developer.osdl.org/maryedie/HOTPLUG/planning/hotplug_cpu_test_plan_status.html Additional documentation is included in the tarball. Note that the first test case caused a crash on x86, so take care if you run this on x86 systems. It's been tested to work properly on PPC64, and in theory should run properly on all architectures. I would be very interested in hearing about failures on other architectures. Bryce |
