"there will always be some window manager which will break your expectations" or something like this. for example, there's no way for distinguishing whether a window is "just big", or has been maximized. qt tries to make good guesses by looking which WM is running, and lots of rules for different WMs. but even qt sometimes fails, especially with exotic WMs. and i'd call enlightenment an exotic one, as i had to google it up at first... is it true that your problem does NOT exist, when not using xinerama or any dual-head configuration? or is this only tim's experience? please try WITH xinerama, but with a different WM. for example, use xfwm4 (xfce's window manager, this is known working here), or probably kwin or metacity (gnome's wm). these are non-exotic. in case this is really WM-specific, then we should maybe get a way to make muse usable without "supported" WMs as well. i don't think there will be a way for auto-saving states etc (except when using MDI subwins ;) ), but there should be at least some (not very comfortable, but better than nothing) manual way to set up stuff like this. that is, don't auto-save, but set stuff up by hand. greetings flo |
