that's related to a workaround i did some day for the MDI stuff.
i had to focus something unrelated, and chose to focus the main win's 
menu bar if [something] happens. i dunno why any more, i'll take a look 
at it.

but if you've the menu bar focused (this cannot be seen visually), "V" 
opens "View".
