Hello. I tried using Lives for the first time the other day, but it was
taking so long to import a short clip that I had recorded on my phone (it
was going at around 1 fps) that I had to give up. I presume it was
transcoding the clip. Is there any way to avoid this extreme slowness, for
instance by matching the project settings with the parameters of the media?

What version of LiVES ? What was the clip type ?
Importing is super fast now since version 2.2.0.
