On 10/18 Matti Airas asked about getting lirc to work with RH7 and Hauppauge. Christoph replied asking about the output in /var/log/lircd. Was Matti's problem resolved? I've got 0.6.2 with kernal 2.4.0 test7 with the i2c from the 2.4 kernal. I've been using an irman but tried today to get the hauppauge dongle to work. Lirc re-compiled and installed successfully ( and I made sure that I had no old lirc files from the irman days ). /usr/local/sbin/lircd starts successfully but when I try to run irw it returns immediately and I get the following lines in /var/log/lircd: Nov 15 14:22:28 isabella.interact-tv.com lircd-0.6.2: lircd ready Nov 15 14:22:30 isabella.interact-tv.com lircd-0.6.2: could not get hardware features Nov 15 14:22:30 isabella.interact-tv.com lircd-0.6.2: this device driver does not support the new LIRC interface Nov 15 14:22:30 isabella.interact-tv.com lircd-0.6.2: make sure you use a current version of the driver Nov 15 14:22:30 isabella.interact-tv.com lircd-0.6.2: caught signal lsmod says: Module Size Used by lirc_haup 1520 0 (unused) lirc_dev 7888 0 [lirc_haup] i2c-core 12720 0 [lirc_haup] Any suggestions? Is there a way to verify that I am getting the correct i2c version? Both the kernal source and i2c 2.5.2 release are using i2c-core.c,v 1.56. Thanks, Scott |
