Old Problem: Antec Veris Basic and LIRC

Jarod,
   Earlier this year you advised me on how to prevent usbhid from
"claiming" the Antec Veris Basic.  I tried at the time but could not
make it work and then personal problems took me off the project until
now.

I am running MythDora 10, 64-bit edition.

I updated my lirc using "yum upgrade lirc" and now "lircd -v" reports
"lircd 0.8.5"

Currently, my "grub.conf" contains "usbhid.quirks=0x152c:0x0043:0x0004"

I also added "options none vendor=0x15c2 product=0x0043" to
"/usr/share/logwatch/default.conf/services/modprobe.conf", but there
apparently is not a "usbhid" module.  I probably should know that, but I'm
grasping here.

"/proc/bus/usb/devices" contains the following...

Can you or someone else please tell me what I am doing wrong in preventing
usbhid from capturing the Antec device?
