Hi, Hope this isn't off-topic. I've been using a substitute remote with my iMON receiver when the original Pad remote buttons started crapping out. Seeing the recent additions to CVS I decided to update lircd on my system and try the old remote again and see if its worth shelling out for a replacement. I was running lircd 0.8.2 (compiled from tarball) on Ubuntu Gutsy (kernel 2.6.22-14-generic) so I updated to lircd 0.8.6 from CVS today and the update seemed to go OK except I get no IR response (using irw) from the old iMON remote - only the substitute. Is it safe to assume that a replacement iMON remote *will* work given I'm recording events with the replacement? The original case was purchased in 2007 - would there be any changes to the hardware that might make a replacement remote incompatible? Also, has anyone successfully got any brand of universal remote working with the iMON Pad IR/VFD driver? I tried a while back with a cheap Chinese branded universal remote (Chunghop) without success. As it is, the substitute remote I'm using produces two different button press events for each push but it's workable. I configured the driver for iMON Pad IR/VFD which I assume is the right driver for the kit that ships with Silverstone Media cases. Any help appreciated, Matt |
