I'm sure this has been asked before, but I did not see anything in a search of the list. So I apologize for asking it again. :) I'm looking at building my first HTPC using MythTV and want to find a remote to go with it. I want an IR learning remote so that I can teach it to use my receiver and TV as well as control the PC. I see that the MCE and MCE2 remotes are supported under LIRC and searching for a Media Center Remote that is learning revealed the MediaGate GV-IR01WT remote for a good price (http://www.coolerguys.com/840556082460.html as a reference). Will this remote work for me? What other remotes will work for me? For remote specs, I'm looking for something in the sub $50 range that is learning and can do at least 3-4 devices (HTPC, TV, Receiver, optionally DVD player). I want a learning remote because I don't know which receiver I'm getting yet and I want to be sure it works for that. I also want to be sure it works with my TV (Olevia 232V) which as far as I can tell the way to get a working remote is a learning remote. Thanks. -Dan |
