I have a Winfast TV2000XL Deluxe tuner card. Prior to kernel 2.6.22, I had been using the lirc-gpio module to get lirc working on my Fedora Core 6 system. However, as is well known, lirc-gpio is broken in kernel 2.6.22 giving errors like: kernel: lirc_gpio: Unknown symbol bttv_get_cardinfo kernel: lirc_gpio: Unknown symbol bttv_get_gpio_queue So, instead I tried to use the dev/input method, by running: lircd -H dev/input --device name="bttv IR (card=34)" However, when I run irw to test the remote, none of the keys respond. However, the syslog looks just fine: lircd-0.8.3-CVS[8840]: lircd(userspace) ready lircd-0.8.3-CVS[8840]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd lircd-0.8.3-CVS[8840]: initializing 'name=bttv IR (card=34)' Similarly, when I run irrecord: irrecord -H dev/input -d /dev/input/event3 irrecord I get the following error message after holding down "an arbitrary key": irrecord: gap not found, can't continue irrecord: closing '/dev/input/event3' I am using lircd.conf.PVR2000 as my /etc/lircd.conf file. Somewhere I read that it may be that the Winfast TV2000 doesn't work with dev/input and requires lirc_gpio. Is that true? Either way, what do I need to do to get lirc to work under kernel 2.6.22 for the Winfast TV2000? |
