Hi, i have an self-made serial-port reciever and an Phillps RT214 remote controll. Im on ubuntu 6.06 and i use that to (try to) setup my remote system. I cant recieve signals from my remote control to setup an config. But if i run windows with miriam(MiriServer) with "default/win(lirc)" as config it works fine. What i had done: 1.) i got lirc 0.8 modules sources. then: 2.) sudo m-a prepare 3.) I edit that file # /etc/lirc/lirc-modules-source.conf # lirc-modules-source config file used by Debian GNU/Linux # Space separated list of lirc kernel drivers to build LIRC_MODULES=3D"serial" # It87 module configuration LIRC_IT87_CFLAGS=3D"UNCONFIGURED" # Parallel module configuration LIRC_PARALLEL_PORT=3D"UNCONFIGURED" LIRC_PARALLEL_IRQ=3D"UNCONFIGURED" LIRC_PARALLEL_TIMER=3D"UNCONFIGURED" # Serial module configuration LIRC_SERIAL_PORT=3D"0x3f8" LIRC_SERIAL_IRQ=3D"4" LIRC_SERIAL_CFLAGS=3D" -DLIRC_SERIAL_SOFTCARRIER" # Sir module configuration LIRC_SIR_PORT=3D"UNCONFIGURED" LIRC_SIR_IRQ=3D"UNCONFIGURED" LIRC_SIR_CFLAGS=3D"UNCONFIGURED" 4.) sudo m-a a-i lirc-modules-source sudo depmod -ae 5.) sudo setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none 6.) edit # /etc/serial.conf # /dev/ttyS0 uart none 7.) sudo modprobe lirc_serial lsmod | grep lirc =20 ##works fine i get lirc_serial 13696 0 lirc_dev 15524 1 lirc_serial 8.) edited # /etc/lirc/hardware.conf # # Arguments which will be used when launching lircd LIRCD_ARGS=3D"" #Don't start lircmd even if there seems to be a good config file #START_LIRCMD=3Dfalse #Try to load appropriate kernel modules LOAD_MODULES=3Dtrue # Run "lircd --driver=3Dhelp" for a list of supported drivers. DRIVER=3D"default" # If DEVICE is set to /dev/lirc and devfs is in use /dev/lirc/0 will be # automatically used instead DEVICE=3D"/dev/lirc0" MODULES=3D"lirc_serial" # Default configuration files for your hardware if any LIRCD_CONF=3D"" LIRCMD_CONF=3D"" 9.) sudo /etc/init.d/lirc start 10.) !!! that the problem now i try to setup my remote with: irrecord -d /dev/lirc0 mylirc.conf but after some enters : Don't stop pressing buttons until two lines of dots (2x80) have been generated. Press RETURN now to start recording. irrecord: no data for 10 secs, aborting irrecord: gap not found, can't continue ^^ THATS the problem, what did i wrong, and why its working with miriam und= er windows,=20 with the stupid defalut setting where choose "default/win(lirc)" what tell= s me that, it has to work with (withoutwin)lirc :) I hope somebody can help me, i using com 1 with an simple selfmade serial-r= eciever like u can find 10x how-to build serial reciever.
