Hey and thanks for clearing that up. I copied the file remotes/mceusb/lircd.conf.mceusb to /etc/lircd.conf, a= nd restarted lircd. But still no go. I'm using mythtv, and the remote doesn't seem to work a= t all. Starting mythfrontend prints "lircd-0.8.0[11192]: accepted new client on= /dev/lircd" in /var/log/messages, but mythtv doesn't respond to the rem= ote. Any ideas what could be wrong? Possibly mythtv? As you can see, mythtv connects to lircd, but either lircd doesnt send a= ny data, or mythtv doesnt read any data. "cat /dev/lircd" returns: "cat: /dev/lircd: No such device or address" no errors regarding lircd in mythfrontend output. regards, Henning On Fri, 18 Aug 2006 12:02:19 +0200, Martin Blatter <mbl...@gm...> = wrote: > Hi > > irrecord does not work with MCE-ish remotes. > Just use the supplied /etc/lircd.conf and your SMK > remote should work fine. > > regards > martin > > Henning Larsen schrieb: >> Hi, I've now tried getting this remote to work for two days without a= ny luck.. >> >> The remote seems to be a Hauppauge-version of the MCE-remote, marked = "RC6" on the back. >> The receiver is an usb dongle, marked SMK on the back, recognized as = an "SMK eHome Infrared Transceiver on usb2:2" >> >> I'm starting lircd as following: >> lircd --device=3D/dev/lirc0 >> >> ("cat /dev/lirc0" outputs binary data when pressing buttons on the re= mote) >> >> "irw" outputs nothing, just hangs silent on the console. >> >> "irrecord --device=3D/dev/lirc0 /etc/lircd.conf" outputs the followin= g: >> >> <snip> >> irrecord: 1 >> irrecord: pending pulse: 0 >> irrecord: 1 >> irrecord: pending pulse: 0 >> irrecord: 1 >> irrecord: code: 1fff >> irrecord: sum: 0 >> irrecord: +p450 >> irrecord: space expected >> Something went wrong. irrecord: driver supports receiving >> Please try again.
