By adding "alias char-major-61 lirc_gpio" to modprobe.conf and running "modprobe lirc_gpio" from the command line, it looks like the lirc device is being recognised in /var/log/messages: Oct 25 23:20:39 elm kernel: lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin:sample_rate: 12 Oct 25 23:20:39 elm kernel: lirc_gpio (0): driver registered Then I run irw to check that it's receiving signals from the remote. irw starts up and waits for a signal, but it never seems to get one. My understanding is that it's supposed to respond to the screen when it receives a signal, but irw just sits there, so there's obviously something wrong with my setup still. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me get the remote working because this is the last step before I get into all the exciting mythtv stuff. PS - I know the remote works because I tested it out on a Windows PC this evening and it worked just fine. Thanks in advance for any help, Phill |
