Ok, a couple more changes. I noticed that lirc_lock was being used as a spin lock so irqlock was unnecessary, so now all spin locks use the same var. Also, stupid me, didn't initialize the lock, which probably is why your computer dead-locked when inserting the module. Attached please find a patch which updates lirc_serial.c from my previous patch. Patch from root of linux tree with -p1. Let me know if it works and if so I'll release an -oh4 patch. What does the oh mean anyway?
