Short story: last week I bought a Volito 2 tablet, after checking on linuxwacom that it worked on linux (since I plan to use it on linux all the time). Unfortunately, I had trouble in getting it to work, and actually didn't succeed. Now, I still have to check again the docs, and maybe I'll do some other attempt, but nonetheless I have some question that I didn't find answered anywhere: - what's the relationship between linuxwacom and the wacom module provided with vanilla kernels? they seem to be updated in parallel, but not to be synchronized exactely; in particular, no Volito 2 patch seems to have made it into the kernel - if I want to compile a 2.6.N kernel with N > 11, and use the linuxwacom package, what should I do? there are no 2.6. subdirectories past 11 (I tried out a selfmade patch for 2.6.13.3, to no avail) - I am no tablet expert, but the Volito 2 tablet has no mouse and it seems to have no eraser as well: should I add only a "stylus" device in xorg.conf? - does the binary wacom_drv provided with 0.70 support Volito 2? Thank you for your attention; any additional information about Volito 2 is appreciated. _dave_ |
