Unless someone else added code to linearize buffers for drivers which don't 
support S/G, nothing has changed, and even then it would be useless, since 
linearization in software would be better done at user level.
On the nicstar, it would be difficult to add S/G in a sensible manner (i.e., 
without sw linearization) due to buffer size and alignement issues, and 
that's why it hasn't been done.
