Hi I cannot give much feedback on the new plugin architecture as I didn't have enough time to study nucleus, but that subscription concept sounds promising! While reworking the plugin framework I have some rather basic/simple suggestions which might be worth considering: - The new plugin framework will allow more complex plugins. If they are properly OO written, they might need a lot of classes/files. Maybe a new folder structure like /plugins/myplugin/<mypluginfiles> would keep the things clean. - those plugins may need to output something according to user actions, where do the localized strings go? is the plugin responsible for including the strings? (I think there should be a local file for those strings somewhere in the plugins own folder) - pLog should check for unique names during the initialization process of any new plugin. (according to the wiki it doesn't sorry, if this has already changed) - plugins should have an option to be removeable from the database. (the question here is, if the framework provides this or if this is left to the plugin author) bye Reto -- I think there is a world market for maybe five computers. - Thomas Watson, IBM, 1943 |
