Recently having acquired an iSight as a replacement to a crappy USB webcam, I set about writing a simple command line program to capture data from it using libdc1394. At first every thing seemed fine, however, I've started getting a duplicate partial image at the bottom, scrunching the rest of the image upwards. Allow me to demonstrate visually: Not distorted: http://ghostlords.com/archives/cam1/2004/09/06/0000.jpg Distorted: http://ghostlords.com/archives/cam1/2004/09/06/2000.jpg Images saved by coriander also exhibit this distortion, so I do not think it is an error in my code. I am running Debian testing on this computer, featuring the following (all from standard packages): libdc1394 0.9.5 coriander 1.0.0-pre3 kernel 2.4.25 I have also had some problems with image capturing being a bit finnicky, sometimes requiring that I issue iso stop/start commands, un- and re- plug the camera, or even rmmod and reload all of my firewire modules. I do not know if perhaps these are both symptoms of a greater problem. Any help would be appreciated, and if there is any missing information that I should have included in the first place, I will happily supply it upon request. -- Jonathan |
