I’m writing to you with reference to the connectivity with the “HiTechnic Infrared Seeker” for LEGO Mindstorms NXT (Part No.: NSK1042, Code: 793573417183).
We want to use this sensor to read values from the environment. Regarding to the documentation we have an input from this sensor that detects a light source and describes the direction and approximate distance of this source.
We have built a LEGO Mindstorms NXT robot using this sensor to detect an object emitting an infrared signal.
The operating system we are using is NXTosek. We tried both, the contained C and C++ API, and both did’t work. The only value we get is -1 and 1. Even the contained example “HiTechSensors” for the C++ API and “hitechtest2” for the C API doesn’t work.
We get just a value of 1 when the sensor is connected and -1 when the sensor is disconnected. No further values as described in the documentation can be obtained.
We need help with this issue since we are developing a robot for our project at the university that uses your sensor. If we cannot fix this, we have to skip the project idea and find another concept without the infrared sensor.
We would appreciate your help to keep our project alive.
Sorry for too less details. We're using the seeker V2 together with the HiTechnic Infrared Electronic Ball, operating at 1200 Hz. The seeker is in AC mode.
