Hi, I am glad to the announce the release 2.6 of the Little CMS open source color engine. Version 2.6 is a featured release that introduces contexts, greatly improves concurrency and minimizes thread contention. To do so, from this version an extra dependency of the pthreads library is required for all platforms except MS-Windows, which uses critical sections by default. I wish to thank ARTIFEX Software, the creators of Ghost Script, for sponsoring this release: without their aid this functionality had never seen the light. Many thanks also to all users that have tested this code, and special thanks to to Bob Friesenhahn and Jordi Vilar for their aid in incorporating the pthreads library. Little CMS intends to be a small-footprint color management engine, with special focus on accuracy and performance. It uses the International Color Consortium standard (ICC), which is the modern standard when regarding to color management. The ICC specification is widely used and is referred to in many International and other de-facto standards.
